We have all forsaken ourselves for love.
We have crumbled into compromise...danced with poison on our tongues,
Ready to lose our breath for the one who claimed to love us.
the blood of our own hearts,
smeared on our decisions.
Have you ever wondered why?
When we are children, we see the world with so much love and freedom. Even for those of us who had a bad childhood, we kept on smiling, laughing and hoping. It's natural for a child to be positive. Active imaginations can immerse us into places where there is full security, whimsy and all the things we long for.
When we get older though, the same imagination that kept us hopeful has built a cage around us. We are insecure, lonely, and marked with an insatiable need to both accomplish something and be seen or loved by someone so that we can feel valuable.
Let's remember the feeling of imagination, today. Let's remember that we are all children.
Jesus didn't say to come to Him as a child for no reason. He knew. He knew adulthood would dull us in a sense. He knew we would need to be reminded.
So let me remind you today, you are the child of an eternal Father. Dearly loved. Wanted. And oh so, valuable.
Be honest. Be hopeful. Be love.
Peace.
